Childhood
Our younger daughter, Robin, was born in Colombia, South America,
where we were still serving as missionaries. We lived in
a rural area in central Colombia until she was 10.
After we returned to the United States, she was home-schooled through
high school.
Education and Interests
Robin attended Mountain View College for two years, then transfered
to the Southern Methodist University (SMU).
On May 14, 2005, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from SMU
with majors in Anthropology (with Departmental Distinction) and
Foreign Languages, and minors in Latin American Studies and Women’s
Studies, along with a whole list of awards and accomplishments.
Her French studies included two summers in France, where she demonstrated
that she is also an accomplished photographer.
She is pursuing a Masters in Social Work, begun at the University of Texas in
Arlington this past fall.
Long term goals include doctoral studies.
Robin enjoys languages. She is fluent in French, Spanish, and American
Sign Language, and has also studied some Chinese and Arabic, mostly
for fun.
Robin's two canine companions are her joy and delight.
Abri is a medium sized black lab/ Border Collie mix who eargerly guards Robin.
Robin's second dog, Buddy, is a big black lab, an 80 lb. teddy bear who is calm
and good with small children and people of all ages. Buddy's passion is eviscerating
stuffed animals.
